Project Impact Briefs
Brazil
Brazil’s transition to a more open economy has created a surge in demand for consumer and durable goods. The Alliance project implemented a risk management system and digitalised key processes to expedite trade and enhance consumer safety.
Colombia – Center of Excellence
Inconsistent decisions on tariff classifications, shipment values, and rules of origin at Colombia’s borders were incurring unnecessary delays and additional costs for automotive parts imports into the country. The Alliance facilitated the development of a Center of Excellence, a virtual hub concentrating specialised automotive industry knowledge, to process advance rulings for the automotive industry.
Morocco – ePhyto
Recognising the constraints of physical documentation and in line with Morocco’s strategic digital strategy, the Moroccan National Plant Protection Organisation decided to adopt the International Plant Protection Convention ePhyto Solution through the IPPC ePhyto Hub, which allows countries to electronically exchange ePhytos with one another quickly, accurately and at low cost.
Colombia – INVIMA
Inspectors at Colombia’s National Food and Drug Surveillance Institute, INVIMA, were physically inspecting 100% of food and beverages arriving at the country’s borders. The Alliance worked with INVIMA and business to introduce a risk management system that can facilitate tradewhile protecting public health.
